The Canadian Association of MAiD Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) is the national organization representing Canada’s clinicians, program administrators, and experts dedicated to high-quality, compassionate, and ethically grounded medical assistance in dying (MAiD). Since its inception, CAMAP has strengthened the practice of MAiD by fostering clinical excellence, advancing research, and creating a trusted professional community for those delivering this complex and deeply human care.
CAMAP is a member-based professional association and a registered Canadian charity. Clinicians and program staff working directly in MAiD are invited to join CAMAP’s professional community, gaining access to accredited education, peer support, research opportunities, and national clinical forums. As a charity, CAMAP also welcomes support from the broader public and encourages you to consider making a charitable gift to help advance education, research, and the sustainability of MAiD practice across Canada.
CAMAP leads the development of evidence-informed education, including the Canadian MAiD Curriculum, provides accredited learning opportunities, supports national mentorship and case-sharing forums, and creates spaces for thoughtful dialogue rooted in clinical experience and emerging scholarship. The organization also serves as a vital connector bringing together clinicians, researchers, policy leaders, and people with lived experience to advance understanding and improve practice across the country.
Through its commitment to rigorous standards, professional development, and knowledge translation, CAMAP works to ensure that MAiD services in Canada remain safe, consistent, transparent, and grounded in dignity. The Canadian Journal of MAiD is an extension of this mission—supporting the dissemination of clinical insights, research, and diverse perspectives that continue to shape the evolving landscape of MAiD in Canada and beyond.
